5 августа 2024 года Sega объявила информацию о регистрации товарного знака «Yakuza Wars», что сразу же вызвало широкие спекуляции среди фанатов. Товарный знак относится к классу 41 (Образование и развлечения), который охватывает продукты для домашних игровых консолей, а также другие товары и услуги.

Дата подачи заявки на товарный знак — 26 июля 2024 г. Sega пока официально не опубликовала никакой информации о потенциальном проекте и не анонсировала новую игру Yakuza. Серия Yakuza, известная своим увлекательным сюжетом и богатым игровым процессом, имеет легионы преданных поклонников, жаждущих нового игрового контента, особенно в годы бума серии. Следует отметить, что регистрация товарного знака не обязательно означает выпуск, разработку или анонс игры. Компании часто регистрируют товарные знаки для потенциальных будущих проектов, но не все проекты в конечном итоге реализуются.

Учитывая название «Yakuza Wars», многие фанаты предположили, что это может быть побочным продуктом популярной серии приключенческих ролевых игр Sega «Yakuza»/«Judgment of Death».
