SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) is a W3C standard for vector-based imagery. Unlike bitmap images made of a fixed pixel grid, vector graphics are defined by a collection of shapes and their properties. The key advantage of SVG is its scalability—enlarging the image does not result in any loss of detail or clarity.
PainterSVG is a dedicated editor for creating and modifying SVG images. It offers the following capabilities:
- Create and edit basic shapes such as lines, circles, and rectangles.
- Create and edit paths, supporting straight, cubic, and quadratic Bezier curves. Intuitively drag stop points and control points to modify paths.
- Easily define stroke and fill properties for all shapes and paths.
- Apply solid color fills, linear gradients, or radial gradients to any shape.
- Simple selection, deselection, dragging, resizing, and rotation of elements.
- Easy zoom in and zoom out functionality.
- Quickly group elements or ungroup them.
- Read from and write to external SVG files.
- Export to PNG files (with transparent background) or JPG files (with a white background).
