Ubisoft Patches AC Origins, Valhalla for Windows 11 Compatibility

Welcome back to our ongoing series, "How is Ubisoft today?" Amidst the ongoing challenges faced by Ubisoft's upper management, there's a glimmer of good news on the horizon. One persistent issue that has been a thorn in the side of gamers has finally been resolved.

Ubisoft has successfully addressed compatibility problems between several Assassin’s Creed titles and the Windows 11 24H2 update. Since the fall of 2024, games like Assassin’s Creed Origins and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, among others, were unable to function correctly on the new operating system. The solution came in the form of new patches, which were announced on the Steam pages for both Origins and Valhalla.

The gaming community has responded positively to these updates. Comments under the patch notes are filled with expressions of gratitude from gamers who appreciate Ubisoft's efforts in resolving this issue, especially since it was triggered by the Windows update rather than a fault in the games themselves. Despite the positive feedback, the recent reviews for both games are still categorized as "Mixed."

Looking ahead, there is optimism that Assassin’s Creed Shadows will not encounter similar compatibility issues. The release of this much-anticipated title has been postponed to March 20, 2025. Ubisoft is focusing on enhancing the game's quality, as its successful launch could be pivotal for the company's future.
