Vaults are back in Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 2: Lawless, but accessing them is tougher than ever. Luckily, Epic Games introduced the perfect tool for aspiring heist artists: Thermite. Here's your guide to finding and using it.

Navigating the new season's loot pool can be tricky, but Thermite is surprisingly easy to find. It appears as floor loot, inside chests, and can be purchased for Bars at Black Markets and Outlaw Vending Machines (located in Crime City, Seaport City, Lonewolf Lair, and Masked Meadows). You can also find it in Go Bags.

Adding Thermite to your inventory is simple, but choosing where it fits in your loadout might require some strategic thinking. Fortunately, Thermite offers more than one use.

Thermite's primary function is vault opening. Simply place it against the vault's front and wait for the explosion. Targeting weak points speeds up the process. Be warned: other players will likely be drawn to the sound of the explosion, so stay vigilant!

Alternatively, you can throw Thermite. It has a short fuse before detonating, creating a mini-explosive spectacle that damages nearby enemies. While not the most powerful explosive in Fortnite, it’s a handy tool in a tight spot.
