Star Wars Outlaws Set for Nintendo Switch 2 Release

Author:Kristen Update:May 13,2025

Ubisoft has confirmed that Star Wars: Outlaws will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2, though it won't be a launch title for the new handheld set to release on June 5. Instead, fans can look forward to embarking on this space adventure starting September 4. If you haven't experienced Star Wars: Outlaws on PS5, Xbox, or PC yet, the game is set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. It follows the journey of Kay Vess, a small-time criminal who finds herself targeted by a cartel. Our reviewer rated it a 7, describing it as "a fun intergalactic heist adventure with great exploration, but it's hindered by simple stealth, repetitive combat, and a few too many bugs at launch."

While Ubisoft kept additional details under wraps, they did confirm the release date for the Nintendo Switch 2 version, allowing us to update the Switch 2 Games List. Amidst the uncertainty for American and Canadian gamers locked in pre-order limbo due to new tariffs introduced by the Republican administration, this news provides a much-needed update on the gaming front.

The announcement came during a panel at Star Wars Celebration in Japan, where Ubisoft also unveiled details about the second story pack for Star Wars: Outlaws, titled A Pirate’s Fortune. This add-on will see Kay Vess teaming up with Hondo Ohnaka to confront Stinger Tash, the leader of the Rokana Raiders. Star Wars: Outlaws: A Pirate’s Fortune is set to launch on May 15, adding more excitement for fans eagerly awaiting new content.
