Game Freak provided further insight into their upcoming game, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, during the presentation. The trailer sparked a buzz among viewers, with reactions ranging from shock to excitement.
We got our first glimpse of Lumiose City, a location inspired by Paris, featuring classic European architecture, narrow streets, outdoor cafés, and its own Eiffel Tower equivalent. The cityscape is beautifully integrated with nature, with trees blending into urban areas, streets overgrown with grass, and moss-covered buildings enhancing the atmosphere. The visuals are particularly striking from an aerial view, where trainers can now navigate rooftops and leap between buildings.
The city is undergoing a major reconstruction, funded by the Quasartico Corporation, aimed at creating spaces where humans and Pokémon can coexist. However, the ominous demeanor of the corporation's CEO and secretary suggests a more complex role in the game's narrative.

A significant gameplay innovation was introduced, allowing trainers to move freely on the battlefield, dodging attacks in real-time. This mechanic is supported by an updated interface and spectacular visual effects.

Speculation about the starter Pokémon was finally settled with the reveal of Tepig, Chikorita, and Totodile. The emphasis on Mega Evolutions suggests they will be central to the game, with stunning transformation scenes showcasing the Pokémon's enhanced forms.

Another highlight was the introduction of AZ, the ancient king of Kalos, who now runs a hotel in Lumiose City and plays a pivotal role in the story. His tragic backstory adds depth to the game's narrative.

A new multiplayer battle-focused game, Pokémon Champions, was announced. The reveal was accompanied by electrifying music and showcased an epic battle between Mega-Evolved and Terastallized Pokémon. Although details are limited, the game will include beloved mechanics such as type advantages, abilities, and moves. It will be available on Nintendo Switch and mobile devices, with integration into Pokémon HOME for transferring Pokémon from other games. We look forward to more announcements and gameplay trailers later this year.

New additions to Pokémon Unite include Suicune, Alolan Raichu, and Alcremie. Suicune will be available from March 1, Raichu in April, and Alcremie at a yet-to-be-announced date. The developers also mentioned updates to the map and wild Pokémon, though these were not the focus of the presentation.
A major update for Pokémon TCG Pocket is the introduction of ranked matches in March. The "Triumphant Light" booster pack, featuring the powerful Arceus ex card, was released the day after the presentation. This set also includes new Pokémon ex with innovative Link abilities, though the Arceus card reveal was not a surprise due to earlier leaks.

The presentation also covered smaller events, such as the Cresselia vs. Darkrai battle in Pokémon Sleep, and the 5.5-year celebration of Pokémon Masters EX, which will introduce Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre. A new Pokémon GO TOUR featuring Unova region Pokémon is set for March 1 and 2. Additionally, Café ReMix received a new apple-themed menu.
A significant announcement was the continuation of Pokémon Concierge, a heartwarming series about Haru, a workaholic turned Pokémon resort concierge. New episodes are scheduled for release in September 2025 on Netflix, following the last episode aired in December 2023.
