Pokemon TCG Pocket unveils Shining Revelry, hints at Ranked Matches

The latest expansion for Pokémon TCG Pocket, "Shining Revelry," has arrived, bringing over 110 new cards into the mix. These include dazzling new shiny variants, with additions from the Paldea region enhancing the excitement. As a fan, I couldn't wait to dive in and used up a significant number of my Pack Hourglasses to open ten packs. My efforts were rewarded with a Charizard EX, although the rest of the haul was less exciting. However, pulling a Pokémon Center Lady was a pleasant surprise, especially for her ability to heal Special Conditions—a useful asset when facing tricky opponents with debilitating effects like Burn.

Following the trend of previous expansions, "Shining Revelry" introduces an Emblem event where players can earn new badges to show off to their friends. Alongside this, the much-anticipated Ranked Matches are set to launch soon. These matches will challenge you to compete against other Trainers, climbing the ranks from Beginner to Master Ball. Your progress will be tracked with points, and at the end of the roughly one-month season, you'll be awarded an emblem based on your performance. It's time to dust off my deck-building skills and prepare for some serious dueling.
