Dead by Daylight & The Night of the Living Cat Collab Revealed

During IGN Live, we have the exclusive first look at the opening two chilling yet charming minutes of Crunchyroll's Nyaight of the Living Cat anime, and we're also announcing a special in-game collection collaboration with Dead by Daylight.

In the opening scene below, we meet the cast and enter a terrifying world that somehow manages to be strangely endearing. As the characters flee from a shadowy, creeping threat, it becomes clear that they're being hunted by a swarm of irresistibly cute cats.

When one of the heroes stumbles and the feline horde surrounds him, he isn't attacked or devoured as in a typical zombie story. Instead, he's showered with affectionate licks and kisses. But these gentle touches come with a catch—just one touch from these cats transforms him into one of them.

As for the Dead by Daylight collaboration, specific details are still under wraps, but fans won’t have to wait long. Behaviour Interactive plans to reveal more about the cute but deadly additions to the game in the near future.

Nyaight of the Living Cat will premiere in Japan on TV Tokyo and other networks, with Crunchyroll simulcasting the series in the U.S. and other regions starting July 6, 2025.

For those new to the series, Nyaight of the Living Cat originated as a Japanese manga written by Hawkman and illustrated by Mecha-Roots. The story follows a mysterious virus that turns anyone touched by a cat into a feline. The protagonist, Kunagi, must resist the overwhelming urge to cuddle these adorable creatures to stay human.
