"Nintendo Switch 2 Unveiled with Zelda Speedrun Applause"

Author:Kristen Update:May 14,2025

At the Nintendo Switch 2 Experience in Japan, a speedrunner of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild achieved an extraordinary feat by completing the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the acclaimed RPG within a strict 10-minute time limit. Japanese content creator Ikaboze, as reported by VGC, utilized an existing save file without prior knowledge of Link's equipment. In a daring challenge, Ikaboze decided to "defeat the final boss while tied up completely naked and with all my equipment removed." Starting from a save that positioned him directly at the final boss fight with Ganon, he managed to vanquish the villain in just seven minutes, prompting spontaneous applause from the gathered crowd.

The achievement was all the more impressive considering Ikaboze's unfamiliarity with the controller and the inability to hear the game amidst the bustling convention hall. "I was surprised by how many people had gathered," Ikaboze remarked. "Staff were even filming on their smartphones. This was the first time anyone had completed the Breath of the Wild demo, and staff congratulated me."

The Nintendo Switch 2 Enhanced Edition of Breath of the Wild boasts improved visuals and performance, introduces achievements, and supports the new "Zelda Notes" feature within the Nintendo Switch Online app. Owners of the original Switch version can access these enhancements through a $10 "upgrade pack." Additionally, subscribers to Nintendo Switch Online and the Expansion Pack can obtain upgrade packs for both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom at no extra cost.
