Nintendo Switch 2 Supports 120fps, Up to 4K Resolution Docked

The long-awaited details about the Nintendo Switch 2 have finally been revealed, and the specs are more impressive than many expected. The new console supports up to 120fps and can handle 4K resolution when docked, marking a significant upgrade from its predecessor.

PlayDuring today's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, Nintendo unveiled several key features of the system. The Nintendo Switch 2 boasts a larger 7.9-inch built-in screen, maintaining the same thickness of 13.9mm but with double the pixels. This allows for a 1080p display in handheld mode at up to 120fps. The screen is an LCD and supports HDR, which extends to 4K resolution and HDR when docked.

The new Joy-Con 2 controllers feature magnetic connectivity and a release button on the back for easy detachment. The SL and SR buttons on the sides are larger, enhancing playability in horizontal mode, while the left and right sticks are also bigger. Additionally, the Joy-Con 2 introduces mouse control support, a feature officially revealed in this segment.

The handheld version of the Nintendo Switch 2 includes a built-in microphone with noise-canceling technology and supports 3D audio for compatible games. It also comes with a larger, more robust stand that can be adjusted to various heights. A top USB port is available for external camera connectivity or to charge the system while in tabletop mode.

Moreover, the Nintendo Switch 2 comes equipped with 256GB of internal storage, providing ample space for games and applications.
