Marvel is gearing up for another splash with its Swimsuit Special comic book release, and it looks like NetEase Games’ Marvel Rivals is set to dive into the summer vibe with its own collection of swimsuit skins.

Details about what might lead to the much-anticipated arrival of Marvel Rivals swimsuit cosmetics were recently shared in a post on the Marvel website. The post promises that Marvel will revive the beloved series on July 9 with Marvel Swimsuit Special: Friends, Foes, and Rivals #1. This issue will offer Earth’s Mightiest Heroes a well-deserved respite from their world-saving duties. More excitingly, the comic book giant hints that readers will get a sneak peek at designs for Marvel Rivals.

“Roxxon Comics is at it again when they release their own UNAUTHORIZED SWIMSUIT SPECIAL,” the description for the Marvel Swimsuit Special reads. “Wasp is on the case and seizes the opportunity for Marvel’s heroes to do their OWN swimwear fashion shoot all over the world! But fear not, True Believers, we know what you’re REALLY here for! This super-sized special features splash page after splash page of gorgeous art, but with a story so you can pretend you’re ‘reading it for the articles…’”

Unfortunately, Marvel remains tight-lipped about the exact launch date for these summer designs and which characters will be featured. It’s also worth noting that the recent post doesn’t explicitly confirm these skins as part of a swimsuit set. However, given the special's theme, it’s reasonable to expect some summer-themed cosmetics. Marvel Rivals, launched in December, quickly became a favorite among multiplayer enthusiasts on PC and consoles.
