Konami Hints at MGS4 Debut on PS5, Xbox

Konami Hints at Potential Metal Gear Solid 4 Remake and Next-Gen Ports

With the anticipated release of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, speculation surrounding a Metal Gear Solid 4 remake and its potential arrival on PS5, Xbox, and other platforms has intensified. Konami, in a recent interview with IGN, subtly acknowledged the buzz.

Producer Noriaki Okamura, while remaining tight-lipped about concrete plans, confirmed awareness of the fervent desire to see MGS4: Guns of the Patriots on modern consoles. He stated, "We definitely are aware of this situation with MGS4... you can probably connect the dots! Right now, we still are internally concerned about what we should be doing for the future of the series. So sorry, we can't really reveal anything at the moment. But stay tuned!"

This cryptic response fuels existing rumors suggesting MGS4 will be included in Master Collection Vol. 2. The release of Master Collection Vol. 1, featuring remastered versions of the first three Metal Gear Solid games for PS5, Xbox, Switch, and PC, further strengthens this speculation.

The rumors gained momentum last year after placeholder buttons for MGS4, MGS5, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker appeared on Konami's official timeline. IGN reported these titles as likely candidates for Master Collection Vol. 2, although Konami has yet to officially confirm this lineup.

Adding fuel to the fire, David Hayter, the English voice actor for Solid Snake, hinted at his involvement in an MGS4-related project on social media last November.

While Konami remains officially silent on the contents of Master Collection Vol. 2, the combined clues suggest the possibility of an MGS4 remake or port is far from improbable. Fans eagerly await further official announcements.
