Kingambit Joins Pokémon Go in Crown Clash Event Next Month

As you gear up for the Sweet Discoveries event, Pokémon Go is sharpening its blades for the upcoming Crown Clash event, and the timing couldn’t be more royal. From May 10th to 18th, you’ll have the chance to evolve the formidable Kingambit, don a crown or two, and stock up on shinies, all while earning bonus XP just for evolving.

Kingambit, the Big Blade Pokémon, makes its highly anticipated debut during the Crown Clash event in Pokémon Go. To add this powerful Pokémon to your team, you’ll need to evolve Bisharp, but there's a unique twist: Bisharp must be your buddy, and you'll need to defeat 15 Dark- or Steel-type Pokémon in Raid Battles. No need for Bisharp to do the battling - just bring it along for the ride and collect those wins.

Adding to the excitement, two new costumed Pokémon – Nidoqueen and Nidoking, both adorned with shiny new crowns, will join the festivities. If luck is on your side, you might even encounter their Shiny versions. These royal Pokémon will be the stars of three-star raids, while the one-star lineup includes Sneasel, Klink, and Pawniard.

The wilds will be bustling during the event. Keep an eye out for frequent spawns like Slowpoke (which may net you a King’s Rock), Slakoth, Piplup, Combee, Snivy, and Litleo. Pawniard will also appear more often, if fortune favors you.

With double XP for evolving Pokémon, it's the perfect time to clear out that evolution backlog. Plus, event-themed Field Research tasks and a catch-and-evolve Collection Challenge will help you earn extra XP, Stardust, and another shot at Pawniard. Trainers Level 31 and up will even receive guaranteed Candy XL for evolutions once the challenge is complete.
