New Harry Potter Illustrated Edition Announced, Now Discounted

Author:Kristen Update:Apr 08,2025

As a devoted fan of the Harry Potter series, I find that revisiting the books is always a delightful experience, no matter how many times I've read them. Yet, there's something special about exploring the story through different mediums. While the movies offer one way to immerse yourself in the wizarding world, the illustrated editions of the books provide an even more captivating experience. Although the full set of illustrated books is still in the works, fans can look forward to a new interactive edition of "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," set to release on October 14, 2025, and available for preorder now.

Don't mix up these interactive editions with the ones illustrated by Jim Kay; these new versions boast stunning illustrations alongside innovative paper-engineered elements that leap off the page. You can secure your copy at either Barnes & Noble or Amazon, with the best deal currently offered by the latter.

This edition features 150 full-color illustrations and interactive elements reminiscent of a pop-up book. The illustrations are crafted by Karl James Mountford, with papercraft designs by Jess Tice-Gilbert. This marks a shift from the previous interactive editions by MinaLima, which ended with "The Prisoner of Azkaban." While the style and interactive features differ, this new release is a boon for collectors eager to complete their set.

What About the Other Illustrated Editions?

The illustrated editions by Jim Kay currently cover up to the fifth book. However, since Kay stepped away from the project in 2022, the future of illustrated editions for "The Half-Blood Prince" and "The Deathly Hallows" remains uncertain. There's still hope, though, that a new illustrator might step in to complete the series.
