*Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii* introduces Goro Majima with two unique fighting styles, one of which is the "Sea Dog" pirate style, complete with four powerful finishers ideal for handling large crowds. However, collecting all the dark instruments in the game can be a challenging journey.
The Dark God’s Violin is the first Dark Instrument you can unlock in *Pirate Yakuza*, and it's essential for progressing through the main storyline. You'll encounter this mission in Chapter 2, where Jason, a crew member, directs you to meet an old friend. This meeting leads Goro and his crew into a confrontation with the Devil Flag pirates, who have killed Jason's friend and stolen the Pharoh Stone.
Following this, you'll meet Misaki, the orphaned daughter of Jason's friend, who joins the Goro Pirates seeking revenge. The questline will guide you to the islands east of Madlantis, where you'll face a formidable fleet of Devil Flag pirates. Focus your attacks on the boss ship to advance to the next stage of the fight onboard the enemy vessel. After defeating the Devil Flags, you'll obtain the Dark God’s Violin. You can then test this new finishing move in a 100-enemy brawl on the island.
After the brawl, a cutscene introduces the captains of the Devil Flag fleet: Yakuza, Ronin, Shinobi, and Zeus. They challenge the Goro Pirates, marking the beginning of this side quest. While defeating the Devil Flags isn't necessary for the main story, it's crucial for collecting all the Dark Instruments.
After securing the first boss ship and engaging in the initial 100-enemy brawl, you'll notice special Devil Flag markers in various waters. Defeating these ships earns you Devil Flags, and you'll need 70 to unlock the next Dark Instrument. Engage any Devil Flag ships or treasure islands you encounter to quickly accumulate these flags.
Once you have 70 flags, Atali Island will become available on your map. Prepare a strong landing party, as you'll face multiple waves of attackers. After navigating through these challenges, you'll reach a treasure chest containing the Dark God’s Ocarina. However, you must defeat Devil Flag Captain Yakuza to claim it.

After defeating Captain Yakuza, a series of cutscenes and new objectives unfold. You'll be led to an island where the Pharoh Stone is supposedly hidden, only to find it's a trap set by Yakuza, leading to another 100-enemy fight. Use this opportunity to test your new Dark God’s Ocarina.
Following this, you'll learn that Zeus is headed to Flame Island. To progress, you'll need a three-star ranking and 130 Devil Flags. Sail to the Flame Entrance Lighthouse to trigger a cutscene, then conquer four treasure islands: Sunset, Heatwave, Welldone, and Scorching Heat. Remember, these islands don't allow the use of health items during battles, so ensure Goro and his landing crew are well-upgraded.
After navigating the treasure islands, you'll face another fleet battle. Focus on the boss ship, board it, and defeat the first mate to land on Flame Island. Choose Jason, Masaru, Minami, and Saejima for the landing party. After several small battles, you'll confront Captain Ronin. Use your Dark Instruments to defeat him and his crew, then claim the Dark God of the Earth’s Guitar from the treasure chest.
The Dark God’s Saxophone is the final Dark Instrument in *Pirate Yakuza*, requiring a Pirate Rank Four to unlock. Achieve this rank by completing main story missions, recruiting new crew members, and engaging in mini-games and side quests. You'll also need 220 Devil Flags.
Sail to the Frost Entrance Lighthouse to trigger a cutscene and engage the Devil Flag fleet blocking Frost Island. You'll also have access to four other islands: Snowview, Coldwave, Icicle Island, and Glacial, where you can collect more Devil Flags.
Defeat Captain Shinobi’s First Fleet before landing on Frost Island. Navigate through a series of battles leading to a cave, followed by a recovery area. The final boss fight against Captain Shinobi awaits beyond the recovery area. After defeating him, a cutscene with Zeus unfolds, where he takes Misaki hostage, and Goro obtains the Dark God’s Saxophone.
The last boss encounter involves defeating Zeus and rescuing Misaki, a challenging two-stage battle on the sea and an island. While not necessary for collecting the Dark Instruments, it's a fitting conclusion to the journey.
And that's how you obtain all Dark Instruments in *Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii*.
