After its announcement in June 2020 and subsequent teasers, skate. is finally open for playtesting on PlayStation and Xbox consoles. Although no specific date has been set for the PC beta, fans can still sign up as an Insider to stay informed.

According to the game's official X (formerly Twitter) account, console playtesting has been active since as early as September, with continued sessions through December. Developer Full Circle is eager for more fans to join the playtesting process, as development continues to evolve.

The game will be available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, set in the fictional city of San Vansterdam. As a free-to-play, live-service game, skate. aims to deliver an "authentic evolution" of the beloved series, as highlighted by Full Circle in a previous YouTube interview.
