Your journey begins in the bustling city of Osaka, nestled in the central part of Izumi Settsu. Here, you'll encounter a woman in the town center discussing a game involving the collection of origami butterflies. As you explore the city, you'll find these large paper butterflies pinned to tree trunks, surrounded by real butterflies.

Collecting these butterflies leads you to discover disturbing notes, revealing that the Butterfly Collector is far from a harmless group. It's a secret society of women intent on kidnapping children from affluent families to gain power and influence. Your mission is clear: stop them. The faction consists of five members, each of whom you must track down and confront.

Shucho

Shucho's carelessness provides your entry point into the group. She lost a kidnapped child in the Fishermen’s District at the southeastern tip of Osaka. Dressed in green, she can be found frantically searching at an intersection. Use Naoe’s blade or Yasuke’s weapons to take her down, then rescue the child hiding behind nearby horses.

Mucho

Head northwest from Shucho's location, crossing the bridge to reach the Kojo ruins. Mucho, disguised as a family jochu, is struggling with her target on the road just south of the ruins. Use the child's resistance to your advantage, and when Mucho attacks, take her down. Escort the child back to her mother before moving on to the next target.

Richo

Richo, a young woman who pretends to be of higher standing, can be found in the northern part of Osaka, specifically in Noda Village across the water. She frequents a bamboo grove, checking on ransom payments. Dressed in pink, you'll find her deeper within the grove. Take her down and rescue the child she's holding.

Kacho

After dealing with the previous three members, you'll confront Kacho, the leader of the Butterfly Collector. She's located just north of the Nishinomaru Garden, west of Osaka Castle, in a restricted zone. Look for a spot with many butterflies to find her. Engage her in conversation, then prepare for a deadly fight. Kacho will not reveal her true identity, and you'll have to end her reign.

Gamemaker

Finally, return to the Gamemaker, who initiated the butterfly collecting quest. As a former victim, she created the game to expose the Butterfly Collector and save others. You'll face a moral choice: punish her for her involvement or allow her to start anew. Choosing the latter lets her adopt a new identity and life.

Once you've made your decision, the Butterfly Collector faction will be dismantled, earning you 5,500 XP toward your next level.

That's how you can effectively locate and deal with the Butterfly Collector and its members in *Assassin’s Creed Shadows*. For more tips and guides, be sure to check out The Escapist.
