"Complete KCD2's Under the Straw Hat Side Quest: Guide"

In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, some quests are locked until you reach Kuttenberg, but once you're there, you're free to roam between regions. One such quest you can pick up in Kuttenberg is the engaging "Under the Straw Hat." Here's a detailed guide on how to unlock and complete this quest, starting with its prerequisite, "In Vino Veritas."

How To Unlock 'Under the Straw Hat' in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Before diving into "Under the Straw Hat," you must first initiate the "In Vino Veritas" side quest in Kuttenberg. Upon arrival, head to the west side of the city where Casper Rudolf is offering free wine samples. He's looking for information to enhance his wine, and you can help him in two ways:

• Directly approach Havel with your wine knowledge. To do this effectively, ensure you're dressed in fancy clothes and are clean. When conversing with Havel, select "Germany," "Steinberger," and "It’s missing ginger" as your responses to extract the necessary information. Return to Casper with your findings.
• Alternatively, retrieve Casper's book from Adleta and study it to gain more wine knowledge before meeting Havel.

Access the Vineyard

After assisting Casper, he'll task you with infiltrating a vineyard north of Kuttenberg to gather intel on the incense Havel mentioned. Avoid wandering into the fields to prevent trespassing charges. Instead, follow the main road into the vineyard and speak with the recruiter, who will officially start the "Under the Straw Hat" quest. Continue along the road, pass the guard at the estate entrance, and locate Jerome on a bench. Inform Jerome that you've been instructed to report there, and he'll brief you on your vineyard duties.

Working at the Vineyard

Your job at the vineyard begins the following day. After resting at an inn or your preferred lodging, return to the vineyard in the morning. You have two paths:

• Perform your assigned tasks, such as moving sacks and picking Thistle around the vines, to earn payment. At the end of the day, report to Jerome for your wages.
• Skip the work and head straight for the secret incense. The wine cellar, located downstairs in the main building near where you met Jerome, holds the incense. Accessing it requires either a lockpick or stealing keys from Jerome. Inside the cellar, find a chest and take all the Sulphur Wicks to complete the main objective. For an additional reward, quickly grab five seedlings from across the main building, mindful of the trespassing risk.

Once you've secured the Sulphur Wicks and possibly the seedlings, return to Casper to complete both "Under the Straw Hat" and "In Vino Veritas" quests. With these quests behind you, you're ready to tackle other side quests like "Master Schindel’s Toys."
