"Calico Nerfed, Sinclair Reworked in Latest Deadlock Update"

Author:Kristen Update:Mar 26,2025

Valve keeps us on our toes with their ongoing commitment to Deadlock, and the latest update, though modest in size, has brought significant changes to four heroes. Calico enthusiasts might feel the sting of this update as her Return to Shadows ability has been notably nerfed; the cooldown now takes an additional ten seconds, and 20% of the speed has been shifted to T2. To add to the adjustments, the damage output from T2 Leaping Slash has been dialed back.

Sinclair, on the other hand, has seen a more positive transformation. Not only have his sounds and animations been refreshed, but his Rabbit Hex ability has evolved into an Area of Effect (AoE) power, potentially broadening his impact on the battlefield. Meanwhile, both Holliday and Wraith have faced nerfs, suggesting a balancing act by the developers to ensure fair play across the board.

The update didn't stop at hero adjustments. Items have also been tweaked: Ammo Scavenger now provides fewer stacks and has lost its health bonus, while Extra Stamina and Restorative Shot have been stripped of their Fire Rate and Weapon Damage bonuses, respectively.

Marking the fifth update for Deadlock in 2025 and the first of February, Valve has shifted gears in their development strategy. Gone are the days of a fixed patch schedule; updates are now rolled out as deemed necessary, keeping the game fresh and responsive to player feedback. Today's update is a testament to this dynamic approach.
