Bug Out Event Returns with Sizzlipede Debut in Pokémon Go

Author:Kristen Update:May 30,2025

If you're a Pokémon GO trainer, get ready because the Bug Out event is back! From March 26th to 30th, this exciting event brings a wave of Bug-type Pokémon, including the debut of Sizzlipede and its evolved form, Centiskorch. The event is loaded with wild encounters, raids, bonuses, and challenges to keep things interesting.

During the Bug Out event, Lure Modules will be essential. Not only will they attract Sizzlipede, but they'll also increase the number of Pokémon appearing at PokéStops when used effectively. Trainers will enjoy 2x XP and extra Candy for Nice Throws or better, with increased Candy XL chances for those at Level 31 and above. Shiny hunters will have better odds of finding Shiny Wurmple and Shiny Venipede.

Expect Bug-type Pokémon to swarm the wild, with frequent appearances from Caterpie, Weedle, Wurmple, Nincada, Venipede, Dwebble, Joltik, Grubbin, Dewpider, Nymble, and possibly Cutiefly. Meanwhile, Sizzlipede will feature in one-star raids alongside Scyther and Nincada, while Beedrill, Scizor, and Kleavor will dominate three-star raids. Completing event-themed Field Research tasks will reward you with Mega Energy, Scatterbug Candy, and encounters with event Pokémon.

Additionally, there's a free Timed Research opportunity offering encounters with Shedinja, Sizzlipede, Kleavor, and more, along with a Lure Module. For extra rewards, a Paid Timed Research option ($2 or local equivalent) provides encounters with Heracross, Sizzlipede, and Kleavor, plus two Premium Battle Passes and an extra Lure Module.

New Collection Challenges will reward Stardust, XP, and Pokémon encounters, while PokéStop Showcases will spotlight event-themed Pokémon. Don’t miss out on grabbing the new Sizzlipede Boots and Scolipede Jacket from the in-game shop.
