Get ready, fans of the Avatar universe! Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios have just announced a thrilling new addition to the beloved franchise with the upcoming series, Avatar: Seven Havens. This exciting news comes as part of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the iconic series Avatar: The Last Airbender, created by Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko.

Avatar: Seven Havens promises to captivate audiences with its 26 episodes of 2D animation, focusing on a young Earthbender who discovers she is the next Avatar following Korra. Set in a world shattered by a cataclysmic event, this new Avatar's journey is fraught with danger. Labeled as a potential destroyer rather than a savior, she and her long-lost twin embark on a quest to uncover their mysterious origins and protect the Seven Havens, the last bastions of civilization.

DiMartino and Konietzko expressed their enthusiasm, stating, "When we created the original series, we never imagined we’d still be expanding the world decades later. This new incarnation of the Avatarverse is full of fantasy, mystery, and a whole new cast of amazing characters." The series will be split into two seasons, each with 13 episodes, forming Book 1 and Book 2. Alongside DiMartino and Konietzko, executive producers Ethan Spaulding and Sehaj Sethi will bring this new adventure to life. While no cast has been announced yet, anticipation is high for this new chapter in the Avatar saga.

This marks the first mainline TV series from Avatar Studios, who are also hard at work on a feature-length animated movie centered around adult Aang. Set to hit theaters on January 30, 2026, the movie will take fans on a new adventure with the beloved character. As part of the 20th anniversary celebrations, Avatar Studios is also rolling out a series of new books, comics, concerts, toys, and even a game in Roblox, ensuring fans have plenty to look forward to in this milestone year.
