The AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT Is Finally Confirmed

AMD has unveiled the Radeon RX 9060 XT at Computex 2025, building on the momentum of last year's RX 9070 XT release in March. Despite this announcement, Team Red has kept details under wraps regarding their upcoming mid-range graphics card.

Equipped with 32 Compute Units and 16GB of GDDR6 memory, the AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT offers solid specifications for a GPU likely aimed at 1080p gaming. Given its compact design, it is no surprise that power consumption remains low compared to the RX 9070 XT, with a Total Board Power (TBP) ranging from 150W to 182W.

Since this AMD GPU features half the Compute Units and draws roughly half the power of the RX 9070 XT, it is reasonable to expect significantly lower performance—but hopefully at a more accessible price point. Unfortunately, AMD has yet to disclose pricing or an official release date for the new card.

The Budget Battles Have Begun

Although AMD hasn't revealed the exact cost of the Radeon RX 9060 XT, it is unlikely to exceed the prices of competitors like the Intel Arc B580 or the recently launched RTX 5060. These rival cards operate within power budgets of 145W and 190W respectively, launching at approximately $250–$300. AMD appears poised to target this same market segment.

When the AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT eventually hits shelves—whenever that may be—gamers seeking a graphics card around the $300 mark will have three distinct options from different manufacturers. If priced competitively, this new Radeon model gains a clear advantage: it is the only GPU in its class featuring 16GB of VRAM, outpacing Nvidia's 8GB and Intel's 12GB offerings.

While real-world performance still needs to be tested in our lab, if the hardware holds up against competitors, the larger frame buffer alone will help extend the card's relevance as games increasingly demand more video memory. Time will reveal the final price of the RX 9060 XT, but it is certainly one budget GPU worth keeping an eye on right now.
