Alors que Nintendo reste serré par les spécifications officielles du Switch 2, les brevets récemment surface suggèrent fortement des mises à niveau importantes de Joy-Con. Les rapports d'attachement magnétique et de fonctionnalité de souris sont désormais largement confirmés par ces dépôts.

Les brevets décrivent un contrôleur de jeu avec montage magnétique à la console Switch 2. Le texte mentionne spécifiquement: "Ce contrôleur de jeu est monté détachablement sur un appareil corporel qui a une récréation, qui comprend un premier aimant et un deuxième aimant au bas de la récréation, et qui peut exécuter le traitement de jeu." Le détachement nécessite d'appuyer sur deux boutons, chaque magnétiquement attiré par un aimant correspondant dans la console.
