哥谭骑士或将成为任天堂Switch 2第三方游戏Le 5 janvier 2025, YouTuber Doctre81 a affirmé que "Gotham Knights" pourrait être l'un des jeux tiers à venir sur Nintendo Switch 2. Cette affirmation provient du CV d'un développeur, qui répertorie son expérience professionnelle dans le développement de Gotham Knights.

Ce développeur a travaillé chez QLOC (2018 à 2023) et son CV répertorie plusieurs titres de jeux, tels que "Mortal Kombat 11" et "Xenoblade Chronicles Eternal". Cependant, celui qui se démarque le plus est Gotham Knights, qui est indiqué sur son CV comme étant développé pour deux plateformes inédites.

La première plate-forme pourrait être la Nintendo Switch originale, car le jeu a déjà reçu une classification ESRB pour la plate-forme. Cependant, ses problèmes de performances sur PS5 et Xbox Series X|S ont peut-être affecté la possibilité de porter Gotham Knights. Pourtant, les développeurs du jeu pourraient avoir d'autres projets, car il est également répertorié sur une autre plateforme inédite, pointant vers la dernière console Nintendo.

Malgré les informations, le jeu n'a pas été officiellement annoncé pour Nintendo Switch. De plus, la notation du jeu par l'ESRB sur la plateforme a été supprimée de son site Web.

Bien que "Gotham Knights" ne soit pas finalement arrivé sur la Switch d'origine, des rapports récents sur YouTube et sa note ESRB 2023 peuvent laisser entendre qu'il pourrait arriver sur la Switch 2 à l'avenir.

Rétrocompatibilité de la Nintendo Switch 2 et annonce officielle

L'actuel président de Nintendo, Shuntaro Furukawa, a publié sur Twitter le 7 mai 2024, affirmant qu'il annoncerait plus d'informations sur le modèle successeur de la Switch « au cours de cet exercice ». Sa date de sortie officielle est imminente, puisque l'exercice financier de Nintendo se termine en mars 2025.

Dans un autre tweet récent, Furukawa a également révélé que la Switch 2 est rétrocompatible avec la Switch d'origine. Selon cette annonce, « Nintendo Switch Software » et « Nintendo Switch Online » seront disponibles sur la prochaine console. Cependant, les informations indiquant si les joueurs pourront également utiliser des cartouches de jeux physiques restent secrètes ou si cela sera limité aux jeux numériques.
