Super Mario Strikers, in Europa als Mario Smash Football bekannt, kommt nächste Woche in die Nintendo GameCube-Bibliothek von Nintendo Switch Online für die Nintendo Switch 2. Es ist der erste Titel, der der Sammlung hinzugefügt wurde, seit die Switch 2 Anfang dieses Monats erschienen ist.

Nintendo Switch Online ist der abonnementbasierte Dienst für die Nintendo Switch-Plattform, der Online-Mehrspielerpartien zum Wettkampf oder Zusammenspiel mit Freunden sowie einen ständig wachsenden Katalog klassischer Nintendo-Spiele aus vier Jahrzehnten bietet. Dazu gehören Titel von NES, SNES, Game Boy, Nintendo 64 und, jüngst hinzugekommen, die GameCube-Bibliothek. Eine kostenlose siebentägige Testversion ist verfügbar.

Das aktuelle GameCube-Angebot umfasst The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, F-Zero GX und Soulcalibur 2. Zu den für den Dienst erwarteten kommenden Ergänzungen gehören Super Mario Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion, Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness und mehr.

Die Nintendo Switch 2 hat einen soliden Start hingelegt und 3,5 Millionen Einheiten abgesetzt, obwohl eine Analyse der Verkäufe in der ersten Woche ein durchmischtes Bild für Nicht-Nintendo-Titel ergab.
