Pokémon Scarlet und Violet haben sich als einige der meistverkauften Pokémon-Spiele in der Geschichte des Franchise entwickelt. Laut Joe Merrick, dem Webmaster von sierebii.net , und wie von Eurogamer berichtet, haben diese beiden Titel 25 Millionen verkaufte Exemplare übertroffen und alle anderen Pokémon -Spiele seit dem ursprünglichen Pokémon Red/Green/Blue/Blue übertroffen, der bei seiner Veröffentlichung 1996 im Game Boy 31,4 Millionen Exemplare verkaufte.

Mit 26.790.000 Umsätzen haben Scarlet/Violet gerade Schwert/Schild für den zweiten Platz ausgelegt, wobei letztere 26.720.000 Exemplare verkauft haben. Abgerundet werden die Top 5 mit Gold/Silber mit 23,7 Millionen verkauften Exemplaren und Diamond/Perle mit 16,7 Millionen Exemplaren.

Bei ihrem Start erhielten Scarlet/Violet gemischte Kritiken und eingebracht, was ihnen einen Platz unter den am niedrigsten bewerteten Hauptspielen der Serie einbrachte.
