Neuer Batman für das DCU bestätigt

James Gunn und Peter Safran haben offiziell angekündigt, dass "The Brave and the Bold" eine neue Inkarnation von Batman in das DC-Universum einführen wird, wobei Robert Pattinson definitiv für diese Rolle ausgeschlossen ist. Während einer Präsentation von DC Studios erläuterten die Co-CEOs, dass Pattinson den Dunklen Ritter ausschließlich im separaten Filmuniversum von Matt Reeves - "The Batman Crime Saga" - verkörpern wird.

"Wir lieben Robs Leistung, aber die Einführung eines neuen Batmans ist für das DCU unerlässlich", erklärte Safran. "Genau das wird 'The Brave and the Bold' erreichen."

Reeves' Perspektive zu möglichen Crossovern

Frühere Spekulationen über einen möglichen Crossover mit Pattinson waren aufgekommen, als Reeves selbst bei den Golden Globes diese Möglichkeit andeutete. "Mein Hauptaugenmerk liegt darauf, 'The Batman Part 2' zu etwas ganz Besonderem zu machen", sagte Reeves dem Entertainment-Reporter Josh Horowitz. "James und Peter haben unsere eigenständige Vision unglaublich unterstützt."

Updates zur Produktion

Safran bestätigte, dass die Entwicklung von "The Brave and the Bold" schnell voranschreitet, während er die frühen Arbeiten von Reeves an "The Batman Part 2" lobte. Obwohl das Drehbuch noch nicht fertiggestellt ist, beschrieb Safran ihr erstes Material als "äußerst vielversprechend". Bezüglich möglicher Regisseure plant man, sich an Andy Muschietti zu wenden, sobald das Skript ein ausgefeiltes Stadium erreicht hat.

Das Veröffentlichungsdatum von "The Batman Part 2" im Oktober 2027 wurde bestätigt, doch Safran blieb bezüglich des Zeitplans für "The Brave and the Bold" vage: "Wir können bestätigen, dass ein Batman-Film in diesem Oktober erscheinen wird."

Batmans DCU-Debüt

Fans erhielten einen ersten Blick auf den neuen Batman in "Creature Commandos" Episode 6, wo die Silhouette eines muskulösen Cape-Crusaders bei der Beobachtung krimineller Aktivitäten zu sehen war. Gunn erklärte später dieses absichtlich vage Erscheinungsbild: "Wir sind noch nicht bereit, unseren Batman vollständig zu enthüllen – deshalb haben wir nur den Umriss gezeigt."

Der Cameo-Auftritt bestätigte, dass Batman in der aktuellen Zeitleiste des DCU existiert und ein etablierter Held ist. Gunn deutete zukünftige Crossover an und erklärte: "Wir sind gespannt, die Dynamik zwischen Superman und Batman zu erkunden – sie repräsentieren zwei der ikonischsten Figuren von DC."
