Pokémon Gold und Silber haben die Funktion eingeführt, nach Kämpfen Anrufe von bestimmten NPCs zu empfangen. Bei diesen Anrufen kann es sich um freundliche Updates, Story-Entwicklungen oder Rückkampfanfragen handeln. Allerdings ist die Erfahrung dieses Spielers alles andere als typisch.

Pokémon-Enthusiast FodderWadder hat ein Video geteilt, das seine missliche Lage zeigt. Während sie in einem Pokémon-Center stehen, werden sie sofort mit Anrufen bombardiert. Zunächst teilt Wade, der Käferfänger, seinen Trainingsfortschritt mit; Dann schlägt Youngster Joey einen Rückkampf auf Route 30 vor.

Die unerbittlichen Anrufe gehen weiter. Joeys Anruf wird sofort wiederholt, gefolgt von einem weiteren Anruf von Wade. Dieser Zyklus wiederholt sich endlos.

Obwohl Spieler Telefonnummern löschen können, beantwortet das Spiel eingehende Anrufe automatisch. FodderWadder entkam schließlich der Endlosschleife, aber der Prozess war eine Herausforderung.
