Warum sich NIKKE-Spieler vom Evangelion-Crossover-Event enttäuscht fühlten

Laut einem aktuellen Interview mit dem Produzenten des Spiels blieb die Evangelion-Zusammenarbeit von

Shift Up mit GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE hinter den Erwartungen zurück. Sehen wir uns an, was bei diesem Crossover-Event im August 2024 schief gelaufen ist.

Die Probleme

Shift Up erkennt mehrere Mängel an. Während die In-Game-Outfits von Rei, Asuka, Mari und Misato ihrem ursprünglichen Design treu blieben, führte diese Treue nicht zu Begeisterung der Spieler.

Die ursprünglichen Charakterdesigns, die gemeinsam von Shift Up und dem NIKKE-Team erstellt wurden, wurden von den Machern von Evangelion als zu suggestiv erachtet. Nachfolgende Änderungen stellten zwar die Lizenzgeber zufrieden, fanden jedoch bei der Spielerbasis keinen Anklang. Der veränderten Ästhetik fehlte der Reiz der ursprünglichen Konzepte.

Spielerempfang

Die enttäuschenden Outfits waren nicht das einzige Problem. Die Spieler sahen kaum Anreize, in zeitlich begrenzte Charaktere oder Kostüme zu investieren, insbesondere angesichts des Mangels an signifikanten visuellen Unterschieden. Asukas Gacha-Haut, die teuerste Option, hatte eine verblüffende Ähnlichkeit mit ihrem Standard-Aussehen, was sich als äußerst abstoßend erwies.

Die Stärke von

GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE liegt in seiner kühnen Anime-Ästhetik und der fesselnden Erzählung. Allerdings haben jüngste Kooperationen, einschließlich des Evangelion-Events, diese Identität verwässert und die Spieler fühlen sich unmotiviert. Die Veranstaltung selbst fühlte sich langwierig an und es mangelte ihr an Inspiration in der Gestaltung.

Ein Blick in die Zukunft

Shift Up versichert den Spielern, dass das Feedback in zukünftige Kooperationen einfließen wird. Hoffentlich führt dies zu fesselnderen und gut umgesetzten Crossover-Events.
