Design your own boards, pieces, and rules, then share your creations online for others to enjoy. Choose from 75 built-in boards in adventure mode, or create your own masterpieces! ChessCraft boasts the world's largest chess variant database.
Unlike other chess AI mobile games, ChessCraft lets you design truly unique boards and pieces and instantly play a strong AI opponent.
Craft innovative pieces using any combination of bishop/rook slides and a 7x7 grid of knight-like hops. Pieces can even influence nearby pieces! Design boards up to 16x16, enabling or disabling tiles as desired. Set promotion rules for any piece, anywhere on the board. Add tile rules such as teleporters, sanctuaries, and more. Our AI uses advanced computer science and graph theory to understand your creations and provide a challenging match.

ChessCraft is completely free and ad-free (with occasional requests to become a Patron). Patron status removes these interruptions. Educators, students, or those facing financial hardship can email the developer for a special access code.
