Battle of Sudoku: A Multiplayer Sudoku Showdown!

Love Sudoku and want to challenge friends? Battle of Sudoku is a multiplayer version where you compete against other players or teams. The goal is classic Sudoku: fill a 9x9 grid with digits so each row, column, and 3x3 subgrid contains all digits from 1 to 9.

Before starting, adjust the difficulty (1-6, 1 being easiest, 6 hardest) in the game options. This sets the initial numbers on the grid, which all players must solve simultaneously. Everyone begins with the same puzzle.

Game Modes:

The game offers two modes, selectable in the options:

"Show correct numbers of your opponent": Each correctly placed number is visible to all players, earning you points. You can't place a number already used by another player. Speed and accuracy are key!
"Hide correct numbers of your opponent": Players only see their own grid. Multiple players can earn points for the same correct number.

Time-Outs:

Incorrect numbers result in a time-out (default 30 seconds, configurable in options), preventing further actions while others continue playing.

Scoring:

Correct numbers earn points, with higher difficulty levels awarding more points per correct placement. Incorrect numbers deduct points (half the value of a correct placement).

Winning:

The game ends when the puzzle is solved. The player with the most points wins. If "Show correct numbers" is disabled, the game ends when one player solves it, though this doesn't grant extra points; others can still win with fewer mistakes.

Team Play:

Team play allows two teams to compete. Choose your team (1 or 2) upon joining. At least two players per team are required. Points are added to the team total, and notes/colors are shared among teammates, enabling collaborative strategies.

Solving Tools:

A toolbar provides tools to aid in solving:

Pen Tool: Add notes (mini-numbers) to squares. Clicking a number already present removes it.
Fill Mode: Change the background color of squares (even solved ones).
